Auckland Thursday Night Curry
When and Where
Date: 2 February 2012 Time: 7:30pm
Venue: somewhere in Auckland.
Auckland Thursday Night Curry is held every 2nd Thursday. Restaurant changes each time, usually somewhere in central Auckland (eg Mt Eden, Parnell, Ponsonby). We return to our favourite locations often.
Anyone is welcome to attend, especially if you agree to the AUP aka "rules". We usually get around 6 to a dozen each time. Most of the regulars work in IT, especially within internet network operations and bring their friends and/or partners along. Average price of each meal has been approx $26 recently, with a range of $25-$35.
The first Auckland Thursday Night Curry was on 4 July 2002 at Shahi Cafe Herne Bay, Auckland. We celebrated our 8th anniversary on 8 July 2010 at Simla, Mt Eden, Auckland.
There are some rules to ThursdayNightCurry.
We really need an idea of numbers so we can inform the restaurant. If you're coming, please email let Lin Nah know.
Information and communications
There are 3 ways to find out where and when the next curry will be held as well as to participate in discussion with other attendees.
- There are 2 mailing lists. Curry list is for announcements only by the person organising curry. Curry Chat list is for discussion among the curry attendees. If you wish to be added to the mailing list, please attend curry to ask to be added. The mailing list has been our primary mode of communication since the group started.
- This page will be updated with the location and date when venue is booked.
- Auckland Thursday Night Curry Facebook group since 28 Nov 2009. An event is created when venue is booked. Members of the group are invited to the event.
